One last time
at least for 2012.
This year has been an interesting year to say the least. We've been in some difficult situations and I believe extremely blessed through them. Of course at the time it is difficult in the moment to see the blessings but I am so very grateful to God for giving me a husband that I can admire for his strength and attitude in ugly situations.
I also give thanks for my children who are such a joy to me. I see our three little girls and am struck by their innocence and purity which makes me realise why it is so important to be like children. Our girls so happily and readily believe that God will look after them and the doubts and lack of faith that comes to adults does not yet burden them. We are also VERY blessed that they are such happy girls and that they enjoy sisterhood and love each other so much.
The New Year holds many adventures for us as a family.
*starting the new year with GH working from home
*bringing Princess home and homeschooling her
*Sweetness starting school (homeschooling)
*freedom to visit and spend time with loved ones
*my taking up the role officially as educator to our children
*my desire to further my education of sewing and making clothes for our family
*making our lives simplified
*adding responsibilities to our lives e.g chickens:)
and especially our spiritual journeys and our desire to grow in our faith, wisdom, knowledge and love.
Lord willing I will try to 'keep up' more with my blog next year and not become so filled with doubts and woes as to not share the amazing blessings that we are given.

So it's November
So it's November, it's not Christmas and so I think I haven't done too badly, remember I said I haven't got a working camera, well I was right in thinking I would do less posting but I didn't think I would be this bad. I suppose the addition of an ipad to the house means that the computer hasn't had the same work out as it had previously. So this is a catch up without too much details.
Back in August GH broke his collar bone, it could have been worst and as he works from home now he didn't miss too much work which has been such a blessing.
Our lovely Princess had her 7th Birthday, we decided last minute to let her have a party and ended up having 17 little girls at our house for a butterfly party.
Our Sweetness had her birthday in October.
Our big girl is enjoying her last days at regular school.
My exciting news from last post which I couldn't yet share as we hadn't told the school that we were leaving yet was that next year Princess and Sweetness will be homeschooled. Princess knowing her cousins were at home felt like she was missing out being with her own family. She didn't not like school but she just missed being with her sisters and parents more. Since GH has started working from home we thought there wouldn't be a better time than now to give it a go.
I'm sure I will write more about it but I won't go into anymore detail tonight as I feel I have accomplished enough just by having posted at all.
Lord willing I will get another post in before Christmas:)

The goings on
Well life has certainly got away from me and I haven't posted in some time as I have hardly gotten onto my computer, I guess it's too easy to curl up in bed with the ipad. I wanted to update my blog though as I do want to keep account of our going ons. Who knows maybe all this will still be available for me in 50 years time and I'm going through the early stages of dementia I will be able to look back at this and remember this amazing, wonderful and sometimes difficult stage of our lives.
With that ramble not a lot has been going on, although now GH works from home which has brought about some new decisions our family has made, but I am going to be cheeky and not say what they are just yet as we need to let others know first before the info goes public as such. But no I'm not pregnant just so no one thinks that is our news:)
We have all gone through a nasty flu over the last few weeks, our little Sweetness started it off and one by one we fell. I was the last to get it which was such a blessing as I knew I needed to be strong to nurse them all through the earlier stages which was bad fevers. Our little Happy Girl probably faired the best, she seems to be one tough cookie but her eaten still hasn't returned to what it was so now I'm not sure if it's just typical two year old fussiness. Which will be a shame as she was an excellent eater.
Princess had a especially hard time of it as the afternoon before she had it she fell down the slide, whilst trying to ride her hopper ball down it and she smacked her nose, which bleed. It wasn't at all funny, except if I was a mean mummy I might look back and laugh at her dramatic reaction to seeing her blood. She just looked down at her hand which had been holding the nose and she just screamed and looked at me with such horror and this could happen to her. She was fine of course but she must have ingested some of the blood which meant it wasn't pretty that night when the fevers hit her.
The last goings on for me personally is that I have started a diet. The diet is only special to us as it is the company that GH is trying to help establish and so I am testing out or being a guinea pig haha. I will put my journey on the blog roll under my skinnyup if anyone is interested in what it is like, it's not too interesting but we thought I should record it for GH's company.
I'll add a few photos from the camera of random photos from the last few weeks. The girls went to a fairy/Princess party, as you can see they were only just over their illness. Sweetness is so pale still.
This is just what the future holds for one little Princess:)

Eating
Sweetness has been introduced to crumpets and
she loves them
Happy girl was given blue sherbet
and this was the resulting sugar crash.
Some of the photos look like she is 'feeding' her baby. She does love her babies though.

Winter jammies
Even in Brisbane it gets cold. But we can't actually wear these through the night, Sweetness has already started the "umm its a bit hot maybe asking and pleading to wear these to be like my sisters was a bad idea" re: the open zip (lol).
Super cute though.

What a difference a year makes
I had no idea that one year could make such a difference. What on earth is next year going to bring:)

What fun
None of these are my photos but have been copied off facebook from various people.
Lots of fun but I must say I'm looking forward to next year or maybe the year after when the girls are just that bit more grown up. Or maybe not because they may think they are too old for the egg hunt.:)

Just a whinge from a tired mummy
It can really be so exhausting looking after little children and at the moment there is one little munchkin in my life who is tiring me out. To be honest some days she has me close to tears with her enthusiasm for life. She doesn't enjoy stillness which is a little foreign to our family. Ever since Princess and Sweetness were young I have had not too much trouble when taking them out to shops. I could even treat us to a coffee and milkshake but now that little miss loud has come into her own we literally have to run in and out of the shops. Her sisters have had to start shutting there doors just to keep her from making messes in their rooms. It can be quite funny when she is determined to play with them and she just stays outside their room and just yells and bangs on their door until they just let her in or they come out and play. I find it funny as she doesn't just wear me down she is doing it to her sisters too.
I know this is just our season in life at the moment and I know that I will miss having a toddler who has more character in her sleep than some have at their peak but right now it is just a little hard to be out 'in the world' and social.
I'm really going to miss my big girls when school starts again next week, what is little miss loud going to be like without two other people to amuse her:)
Wish me luck, or better still say a prayer for all those mums of young bubs because although I don't think it's the hardest job in the world, I do think on those bad days, it's right up there.

My week
Well it's been quite a week at home as such. It is funny that I am considered a stay at home mum or a housewife but sometimes I feel like I'm never actually at home. This week has been a week of mediocrity and a few lows but not very low. And one little shining light.
Sweetness got to take Daddy to Kindy one night this week and she was so excited about it. Daddy was excited too after not having the most enjoyable month at work so sharing these precious moments were just as special to him as they were to Sweetness. I've always told him that Sweetness and him are two peas in a pod and seeing her in a new environment helped him to see this too.
The rest of my week could be summed up like this.
No nothing bad has happened to us and we need to be grateful that nothing is seriously wrong with us. And I know you might be thinking awwww isn't she cute and funny, and yes I would agree. BUT would you like to clean this up right before you were meant to be heading out the door for the school run. Hmmm less cute, more of an inconvenience.
Princess is maybe becoming to much of a Princess and managed to convince me that she needed to stay at home two days this week. Am I really becoming this weak mum who is conned easily. I know its also the thought of what the other mums would think of me when she does cough that she sounds like she's coughing up a lung but then it stops and I kick myself and think she should be at school. I keep thinking it should be getting easier now that she's older but it's really just different. Having to monitor attitudes, bad influences, sibling rivalry the problems are very different from teaching a toddler to share but seem to take the same if not more forethought as it's really dealing with issues of the heart.
Parenting is a challenging job but I saw this clip done but I women who used to serve our church years ago and it really encouraged me that this is my job. It's not just something that's been thrust upon me, it's a role that God has given me and that I have chosen to accept.

Just got in
So I managed to get one post in for Feb., pretty slack really but you were warned that I would be slack with no camera to speak of.
Well even though I would love a nice new camera, I decided I at least needed a point and click just so I don't miss keeping records like these. Although be warned quality is not too good.
I guess at some point Princess will lose a tooth, who knows when though, but I should try get a few full mouthed photos now.
Not much news to report. Our lives are busy, busy with school, kindy and forming some new friends for Happy Girl.
I'm loving this stage of our lives atm, except travelling. It's just a really enjoyable stage of life with the best husband in the world to enjoy it with and children that are great company for us and eachother.

First day back at school
Princess really wasn't happy about going back to school, she was quite nervous about starting year one. At the end of Prep the teachers were telling her that she would need to tie her own laces. She would need to do homework, that she would have to do things for herself. As you can imagine the thought of year one would have her sad at the thought of giving up her 'fun' prep.
So when she had to enter her new classroom without mummy being able to enter for long (and today not at all) it made us both feel like crying.
So driving back to pick her up that day I was sad to think that I had to leave her all day long when she was feeling so sad but I am sure no one would be surprised to hear that she LOVES year one.
Her teacher is so nice. There is some new girls in her class (and 1 boy) which means there is 8 boys and 20 girls. I think at their age the teacher is pretty lucky to have such an easy class.
It was also funny how even up to last night she was missing her sisters at school but then this afternoon she got into the car and her sisters start demanding attention from her and she mentions how nice it is to be at school to have some time away from her pesky sisters.
I am sad not to have her home with us but it does make it nice to hear what a great time she has at school.
This time last year- how much has she grown.

Sunday Morning
Just got GH to take a few pic of the girls with his phone this morning, too cute right.
They are a bit out of order but this is what GH sees when he leaves in the mornings, he has to give them about a million kisses before he leaves, Happy Girl is extremely persistant and chases him all the way to the door to get her last kiss:)

Broken
No not me, my camera so I guess I have been a bit uncaring about my blog lately because really its where I store my photos and without a camera I suppose it will fall into quiet ending. I hope it doesn't but really if I were to start posting posts using just written word, well that could mean trouble:)
Luckily I can use DH's phone for pics when he's around so I can provide some photos. We took the splash pool out and did our usual thing and then the girls were dried and dressed but someone decided that since she was nice and warm again it was time to go for another swim. DH asked me what I was doing when she started to get in. I told him that I was standing right there with his phone as I thought it would be a cute photo:)
Can not believe we only have two weeks left of holidays, I have been in shock and failed to order her school books and received a late fee all because I think 'we have ages yet', well it seems I don't and that makes me sad.
Sweetness is going to start kindy this year, I think she's excited, it's a bit hard to tell with her sometimes. What I can tell you is that things that she used to just decide she could do, she now can do. She enjoys riding her bike now and she spent about 25 minutes this morning just swinging...on the same swing...without stopping.
Oh by the way Happy 2012
