Big Bear

Well we are getting close to the end of the holiday blogs and so I will do Big bear in one, actually I didn't take all that many photos here and remembering what we did is a little difficult.
Day 1- arrive to our lovely cabin and get organised.

Day 2- Family can correct me on my wrongs but I think we had a quiet morning and then in the afternoon we went for a cruise around the lake. I forgot my camera so I can only give you a google image here.

Day 3- Shopping day- most of us (except Gorgeous Husband who could just not shop anymore and who kept charge of Sweetness)we hit the outlets and I got some cute clothes for the girls and spent way too much money:) These little match pjs were one purchase and the cute hat Princess is where in the zoo photo was another.

Day 4- Morning was rest and in the afternoon we visited the Moonridge Zoo. This was an interesting zoo to say the least and it was hard to photograph any animal as the fences of wire made my camera focus a little crazy. Gorgeous Husband also read on one of the signs that many of the animals there had been passed on from other zoos as the animals didn't look healthy or were old. It was a bit obvious in some cases but it was good in that we saw some animals that were uniquely American like the brown bears, bald headed eagles, skunks, raccoons, bobcats, coyotes and buffaloes. My favourite was the raccoon, such cute little faces.

Day 5- we went in the morning to this little fun park, where there was a toboggan and go-carts and mini golf. Princess just loved the toboggan much to my delight, my little girl is loving some adventure now.

Day 6- church with the big bear congregation, which was only about six people and they had a guest speaker there, who was from NZ originally. One thing I notice was that American churches seem well ready for children, even when the church doesn't have many at the time. So the children were happy meeting with the churches. Then it was off in the bus down the mountain and off to LAX and a flight to Auckland.

I will say no more now.

Our holiday and my 100th post

Well we are finally home and I am more happy than I could possible express. I know that you would love to know what happened particularly on the last part of our holiday (isolation) but I think I will live that for a later post and go through our exciting disney holiday as it happened.
So here is day one at disney which was actually day 2 for our holiday but we were much too tired after such a long flight to hit disneyland straight away. Actually on day 1 of holiday we did something which ended up quite a common occurrence in our holiday and that was shopping.
So here are some photos of our first few rides at Disneyland up first was Grammy's very favourite- It's a small world This photo is just before we entered into a world where little dolls with very LOUD voices kept singing to us about it being a "small world afterall".
Next was what Princess had dreamt about most of all- the teacups and we were very blessed because we got to sit in our favourite colour 'pink'.
Next came the Dumbo ride- Princess was loving all the rides at this stage, Sweetness was a little tired still and it wasn't until the later days that she actually gave us a few smiles.
Then was the carousal which we ended up through the five days going on the most because the line was always so short and also because Sweetness enjoyed it.
After that the rides started to get a bit more scary and Princess was not so impressed with them. Some of them were:
Alice in Wonderland, Mr Toad's Ride, Pirates of the Carribean (Princess spent this ride with her head face down on Daddy's lap with her hands over her ears- really scary to a three year old). I am pretty sure we got to go on Space Mountain this day too towards the night and quite a few others too which I can't remember the names.

Day one at disney was really great and we were really blessed because the crowd was not too big that day and we really got to get on heaps of rides.
We also so some of the sights that you expect to at disney which was the castle and this lady here.

On another note I can't believe I have reached 100 posts already I really feel very blessed that we live in an era where we can record our memories and share them with our friends. I remember being young and trying to write a diary- I think I in fact started more than three- but I always forgot about them or just gave up. With the blog I feel that I will be able to look back at my words- good and bad- and look at the photos and be really happy that I have been able to blog.
