Not much to say

Not too much to blog about. Princess has had a bad cough recently and Sweetness has had a temperature but we had our fingers crossed that it would turn out to be teeth but I can now understand that kids are so much more resilient than adults.

This morning I have started a chesty cough and been really head heavy. So its on to the panadol for me and very quiet days.

Dead battery

Isn't it always the way. You have a lovely opportunity to take some fun pictures and the camera battery is flat.

By the way Sweetness would make a lovely plumber this afternoon in her new swimmers:)

Sacred Influence

I first read Sacred Marriage last year, I loved it and found it a wonderful insight into God's purpose of marriage. I enjoyed it enough that I then moved on to Sacred Parenting. This also brought lots of insight and many tears to my eyes.

Now I am on to his (Gary Thomas) third book Sacred Influence. I am only on to the fifth chapter but I wanted to share a small excerpt.

In her book Capture His Heart, Lysa TerKeurst tells of boarding a shuttle bus at the airport, where she met a sixty-year-old man who said something very simple but astonishing. Lysa commented that people must love to see the shuttle bus pull up, because it means they're going home. the driver laughed. "Yeah, everyone is excited to see me pull up to the curb. That's why I like my job so much. People get on the bus and smile so big. They've just been waiting for me and when I finally arrive, they are happy i'm here. I've often wished I had a video camera to tape people as they get on my bus with the smiling faces and glad-to-see-ya comments. I'd love for my wife to see a tape like that. That's the way I've always wanted her to look when I come home from work"

I would imagine he would have accepted quite a bit of overtime.

100 days

If you see my little marker you will see that today it is 100 days until baby number 3 is due.

I know just how much my simple, pretty easy-going lifestyle is going to change but I am still looking forward to those first few hours after the birth when I get to look at our baby with utter dis-belief that this baby, who was kicking me endlessly through the mornings when I was trying to sleep-in, is now the baby I get to cradle in my arms.

Instead of doing housework- Tuesdays

Yes well it's time to be doing housework but when two little girls ask you to a tea party who would dare to decline.

First for the year

I really can not believe that 2009 has flown by so quickly. It really felt like a great year for me, besides some of the bad stuff of course. Nothing was too bad though and 2009 provided a few opportunities for our family to see God working directly in our lives with things such as provision and strengthening of our trust in Him.

Our most amazing week or day as it was was when GH got his new job and we found out we were pregnant with our third child. It was extraordinary in that after 3 months of uncertainty and feeling of insecurity we were blessed on that same day.

Those three months, although difficult, provided such great opportunity for us to grow. Without going into too much detail it really gave us a renewed sense of priority and that although God has blessed us with material possessions, our family is most important.

As for 2010, I don't really have any resolutions (unless you count having this baby). There are new things that I want to learn about, new skills I would love to acquire.
I think though, with young children, this is my time to maybe encourage others in their resolutions and to pray for them.

Maybe I should make one resolution to take more photos as I have none to share for this post. Very sad considering we have just shared Christmas with all our family. I promise to have at least one for next time.

Christmas Dresses

I am so happy to have set my mind to it and now have achieved it (with quite a bit of help though).

This year I decided that I wanted to make the girls some Christmassy dresses, unlike the many ones I have seen on American blogs we just don't have the choice. Here Christmas dresses are just what I consider Church dresses, nothing Christmassy really about them. So this year I decided to try sewing myself. As you can see in the blog heading the girls have worn a Christmas dress before but it was made by my mum, I bought the material and pattern but that was as far as I could go. But this year a good friend was there to help and teach me (and do the really hard bits). I was so happy with the results, well maybe they could have been a bit smaller but that just means they will get another year from them:)
