It goes on forever

Well the title is how I feel sometimes. What I am referring to is being sick. Last time David and the girls were sick, which was only a matter of days ago I thought that I would get pass without getting any of their latest flu too badly. Last night I went to sleep with a sore throat but with hopes that I would be all better in the morning. Imagine my horror when I woke up and knew I wouldn't be doing much talking today. My throat is terribly sore. Can you imagine what it is like for someone who talks and talks all day (mostly to Princess) not wanting to use her voice. Tragedy.

Anyway I really am sad because I have had to stay home from church today and I really miss not being with the family on a Sunday. In fact we have missed out on a lot this week due to feeling out of it. Princess has had a cough, Sweetness has had conjunctivitis along with a constant running nose. More and more I am wishing my life away because I want winter banished.
Can you imagine being able to run around the world and just have a constant summer. I guess I really should have taken up surfing in my youth and then I would have been able to follow the summer and spend all my time on the beach. I bet Princess and Sweetness would have loved it. Although Gorgeous Husband really really dislikes sand. He has a strong dislikement of its ability to get everywhere. I on the other hand have always enjoyed a great day at the beach being pounded by the waves, making sand castles. I especially love the drive home when you feel the salt on your skin and the sun is draining out all moisture in your skin and you feel your skin get tighter and smoother. And the only thing that tops all that is the wonderful feeling when you get to have a shower afterwards and wash all the sand out of your hair and the salt off your body. I never feel so clean then after a day at the beach.

I am now counting down the days until summer or at least Spring- only July, August, September until it starts to warm up.

Our anniversary

Well on the 24th June we celebrated our 8th anniversary. When I say celebrate I use the term quite loosely. We have never really made much of an effort for our anniversary. I think for different reasons. One being it is my mum's birthday- Happy Birthday Mum (actually I don't really need to say that as mum has no idea about this page) But as I was saying because we place more of an emphasis on birthdays we often do the dinner celebration with my folks.
I think another reason is that I don't really feel that this day is a day either of us set aside for romance or the like. It does seem that our special days just happen spontateously. We don't plan a date otherwise it just gets built up only to disappoint, e.g Birthdays, Mother's Days, New Years, Valentine's Day. I do remember being younger and organising what was meant to be the best New Years ever, of course plenty of things went wrong, even a couple pretty much broke up this night. I guess it has taken me a long time but the best times I have had in my life have been moments that have just come about by last minute plans, like trips to the beach on a Saturday afternoon, or family walks around the neighbourhood.

In any case it was lucky this year that we didn't make any plans because I have been sick, Gorgeous Husband has a cold sore, and now Gorgeous Husband is sick too. He is home today from work because of his sickness- hey maybe we might get a great moment sometime today if I am lucky.
I was also very blessed because Gorgeous Husband did buy me some lovely tulips which was the flowers we had at our wedding. And I think the colour yellow because he seems to have a thing about buying me yellow flowers, the first flowers he ever bought me were yellow too.

This is not a good sign

What am I doing up at 11.30pm on a Sunday night. Well I can't sleep can I. And why can't I sleep, well the answer will slightly amuse you, it's because I am tired. It just seem that I can't stop thinking about all the things going on in my life both good and bad. Some things small and others maybe big. I seem to discover myself with very bad posture in bed, my shoulders keep coming up to my ears, I think this is a little sign of stress. I also have a sore on my lip which I can't remember ever getting before and headaches seem to be becoming the norm rather tan a once in a while occurrence. So I thought I would get some of these things out of my head and maybe once I commit them to the world of blog I can't turn the computer off and go back to bed.
1. Lovely thought about how exciting James and Kathleena's wedding is going to be but also how stressful it is going to be leading up to it for them.
2. Mum's birthday this week and I am having family over for dinner tomorrow- what do I cook? What cake do I bake and I need to make a list to go shopping tomorrow. Also don't forget to get card.
3. I really need to see a doctor about my neck, I still haven't since the dryer incident and I think it may be leading to headaches.
4. Gorgeous Husband is starting on a board and I am wondering how this is going to impact on him and those around him. We will see if it is good or bad.

Then I start thinking about all the other things to do this week. The girls have had runny noses so does Princess go swimming. Family says no generally but I often risk it because it gives us the social outing which we so need to let off steam. Thanks for being there CD:)

I just wish I had more times in my life where, for example for lunch today we bought some pies and cakes from the bakery and just sat on our lovely lawn and ate them. Right in between the swings and the trampoline, we then had a swing and a jump but this moment finishes so quickly as something always interrupts and then the moment is lost. AT least today I manages to snap a few which didn't turn out very good but they still show the moment for me.
Sweetness is such a little honey, she is really wanting to be involved in things, especially when it comes to meal times.

Princess just loves pink donuts. Not a healthy lunch but it was so nice.

Well if anyone has any good techniques for me to get to sleep I would be much appreciate the advice.
Goodnight

Trying to be thoughtful

I have now had time to think about this blog and I am still not sure how to put it. I can tell you at the start that I feel this is an issue that has been resolved otherwise I don't think I could discuss it. In fact it actually links quite well to a previous blog pondering.
My love language to anyone who knows me is quite clear. I'll admit it, I will put my hand up and say I like presents. I like giving presents and I like to receive presents. It is how I try to show someone that I love them and care for them and I love it when someone does the same for me.
My Gorgeous Husband does not rate this high as a love language to him. In fact it is loving if you don't get him a present as he would prefer to save the money. So his favourite present is no present at all.
Now conflicts occur in relationships when couples have these different love languages, especially around birthdays. See where I am going:)
My birthday was last Sunday and My Gorgeous Husband got me a present that he would appreciate on his birthday. In his defence he is going to get me rocks for landscaping purposes but that won't be for a while.
My blog today is not to whine about not getting a present for my birthday it is discuss why it is so important to know or recognise the love language of those we love. If we know someone who loves to catch up for a chat, we know that there is no better present to them then time. Another might be a touchy feely sort of person; when they look down we then know they would love a hug. This hug makes them feel loved.
It has really made me aware that I need to show others that I love them through their love language, not my own.
SO guess what hubby will be getting for his birthday;)

Just joking Gorgeous- Maybe one of these

My Sweet Groucho

Nothing much to post but I took a cute photo yesterday of Sweetness. She reminds me of Groucho Marx with his cigar.

The second one was just cute as she was smiling so hard.

This one is because one really can not accept the other getting the attention.

I'm getting my wedding

Well clearly it is not my wedding as I am already married but the wedding I was hoping would happen is happening. My dear brother-in-law has asked his lovely girlfriend to be his wife.
I am really excited about this as to be honest it has been something Gorgeous Husband and I have been praying for for a long time. Not that we think it is not ok for brother to not be married, it is just there are people who do well at being single and he was never going to be one of them. In any case God has answered our prayers and she is just lovely. In fact if you look at my prior post she is in the third photo down playing tennis with the Prince.
So on that front it was a lovely birthday for me having some very happy news. We are not talking about other fronts GH.
So now the decision is pink and green or pink and purple. Please refer to earlier post.

A photo post

Just thought I would add a few photos from our little Prince's 2nd Birthday party. These photos were kindly contributed by D2.
This one is of my lovely Princess who adores her cousin and was so excited about going to his birthday.

Gorgeous Husband with Sweetness. I guess I will find out if he actually looks at this blog as to whether or not I get in trouble for the photo

Our little Prince playing with his new toy with some very lovely help from his friend.

This is the closes we have come to a family portrait in a while.

My favourite- these two are best friends, I hope it always lasts.
