A quick note

The truth is I haven't got to much to say. I have been attempting to write and have achieved just over 10000 words which is 1/5 way through, unfortunately I should be more at 1/3 so I have some word ahead if I do want to make the target.

Another issue that has been consuming me is the way one talks to their fellow man. We all like to feel like me are right don't we? We wouldn't believe something if we didn't think we are right, do we? So how do we feel/cope with someone tell us that we are wrong or correcting us? The truth is I have never really taken criticism well. I am not sure I really could have worked as an actress in my youth because I didn't like someone telling me what I did was wrong. Am I so much different now? Maybe a little, just a tiny little bit I think. But what it has made me aware of is how I talk to other people. I was so embarrassed the other day when someone mis-spoke the name of something, they hadn't really noticed they got it wrong and there was not real issue because I knew what they were talking about but I couldn't help myself and I (it seemed) just had to say the correct word. Did I add to the conversation? No. I can't really say why I did it, but I must say I really regretted it afterwards and I apologised.
But it just isn't why we say something it is the way we do it. Yes I understand there are certain things in life that we (I) need to be set straight on but how do you do it. Are we doing it with respect for that person or are we most concerned with 'setting them straight'.
Respect is such an important topic and one I am reminded about everyday. After reading a book lately about marriage it discusses that the most important thing for a woman is to feel loved by her husband, and for a man it is to feel respected.
I feel like respect is going out of fashion fast in today's society and that people are more concerned with having as much influence over people and being the most right. I think everyone wants to know something that others don't and they sure enjoy setting the others straight on the matter.
I love knowledge, I think it is important to share it with other but my rant is about how we share our knowledge and why we need to share our knowledge.

Some people treat other people like dirt. And it almost becomes a "virtue" in our humanistic society. I'm reminded of the child who asked her mom why she talked so nice to the people on the phone but not to them. We tend to be harsh sometimes with those we are closest to - not to make it okay 'cause it's not - simply because we have the belief that at home, "they have to like us". Forget that too many times and we become tuned out. Then disregarded. Then ignored. Tone and manner is so important in our own households and especially when we have little ones watching our every move and hearing every word spoken (as well has HOW it's spoken). Convicting thoughts indeed.

"A soft answer turneth away wrath" is so true. And "heaping coals upon their head" is true as well when we turn the other cheek and respond in a loving manner. So many think this makes us a "doormat" but it doesn't. It just means we have embraced the humility ("meekness of the Sermon on the Mount) Jesus exhibited in many situations. Hard to do? Yes. Required to do? Yes.

I'm enjoying your book by the way and looking forward to the next chapters.

Thanks Cheri, next chapters are coming but more slowly than I thought, more from lack of sit down time than anything else. Today won't be much better as Sienna has her immunisation, poor bub.
