In the middle

You do need to constantly remind yourself that your children are all so very different.
Today I having been able to see for myself how easy it is to contribute to the theory of middle child syndrome.

When I look at this sweet child of mine I forget sometimes that she is still 3. It doesn't help that most poeple we come across naturally think that she is older simply because she is tall and because she is always up with or at least trying to be up with all the bigger kids.
I find myself saying to her ' you need to change your attitude' or 'you need to stop using that tone of voice'. These things are not an achievable but maybe I need to explain to her first what an attitude is or tone of voice.

I think this is because she is a middle child. I keep thinking that she is up with her sister Princess and in so many cases she is. But I know that I really need to try harder to be mindful that she is still my little sweetness.
With all her little quirks just of her own.

What is going on

I guess the reason why I started blogging besides copying my sister-in-laws idea, was because I liked the idea of keeping a record of going ons in our life. Well I have been pretty slack and even though I am happy enough reading about someone else's trip to the doctors I haven't bothered to record these things for our family. So sorry if you find those types of blogs absolutely boring because it's going to happen here, well occasionally anyway.

So Tuesday we were to the doctors for Baby's 1 year check-up and needles.
Needles were not too great, I think her volume matched Princess' as a baby, it's just that for us she has never used it quite that much and so when she does it's quite a surprise again.

She is one big girl. She measures 81 cms and is 10.5kg. That puts her over the 97th percentile for height and in the 75th for her weight.

I also wanted to write this cute little memory down so I can look back and remember her quirkiness. She was jumping on the trampoline this afternoon and I asked her if it was her favourite thing to do. She replied it was and that one day she was going to jump so high she was going to catch Jesus. It's so great that her Wednesday night Bible classes and her mummy and daddy's teaching give her a desire to run to Him and not away.

Just because

Just because I noticed she hasn't featured on here in a while and just because I liked this photo took the other day.

I've also noticed recently that this little girl is looking a little less tamed

and a bit more wild. Look into these gorgeous eyes. My sweetness is growing, changing and slowly learning more about where the wild things are:)

But I am sure

my sweetness will never lose her soft sweet appeal.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY GIRL

Can you really believe that one whole year has passed since my little baby was born. I certainly can not.

She was so tiny, but so big compared to her sisters but still so small.

Everyday you seem to learn something new now, my little baby is growing up at lightning speed. It feels like you were being cradled in my arms not so long ago. That you wrapped up in our sling and your little body would be close to mine and you were my little secret. I could open up the top of the wrap and I could peek in at you and you would sleep warm, safe and comforted by my being near.

Then you grew some, and started to become interested in other play things besides me. You started to take an interest in your daddy, sisters and a few others. You were actually being passed to others to have a hold.

And then you started to crawl. Those lovely chubby little legs started to get you places. Places away from your mummy. Yes mummy could do a few things more than just hold you now but you were very generous still with your affection and cuddles for me.

Growing, learning, walking and talking. I was a little sad that just like your sisters your first words were 'daddy' I thought I had a chance but I could console myself that even though you words were for daddy, your primary interest were still in me.

But with more growth came a growing interest in others. Mummy's cuddles were lovely but Daddy's soared you to new heights, literally.

You are such a lovely, funny and joyful baby.

Everyday now you grow into a little girl. Walking will soon grow into running. Babbling will turn into words. And your little world, of which mummy was most important, is growing larger and wider.

I love you my little one, you bring such joy to our family and I couldn't ever express my thankfulness to Our Father for allowing you to become a part of our family.
